Dear friends,

Over the past few years I have recommended donations to Second Tree as their work with newcomers in Greece and with various municipalities and universities across Europe is very close to my vision of an open and inclusive society. Their model counters divisive identities and labels and fosters human, meaningful interactions.

This year I am taking a different approach to fundraising, building on my (apparently) recognized ability in generating memes – sometimes my job title has been renamed Education in (M)emergencies Specialist 🙂

How does it work?

1) Scroll down to the donation box on this page.

2) Select the amount you want to donate and finalize the donation.

3) Send me a voice message or a text explaining the story/situation you would like me to turn into a meme.

  • You can choose an existing meme template or send me a picture of your choice.
  • You can do it via whatsapp +393405397712 or via email [email protected]

4) Give me some time to work on it.

5) As soon as I get inspired I will turn your story into a personalized meme and I will share it with you. You can then share that meme publicly or keep for yourself

Please note that you have to contact me via whatsapp or email if you want a personalized meme 🙂

Two Examples:

1) The message I received:

Cam asked Huzayfa about the scar on his face and Huzayfa told him he was hit by a “missile”. Cam asked “In Syria? During the war?”, Huzayfa laughed and answered: “No, a month ago during a football match here in Greece!” (The football match was in the town of Agia Eleni).

The meme I developed:

2) The message I received:

At work, we were all waiting for the boss’ visit. Her name is Tania. She announced she would focus on issues we have been facing over the past six months and finally get them sorted. She came, she stayed one week and then she left. The issues are still there, unchanged.
