Would you buy me a coffee* this World Refugee Day? 

*If you know me well you’ll know I hate coffee, but what would be truly appreciated by more people than you can imagine is a £3.50 donation to our World Refugee Day campaign. 

It’s crazy to think we’re already in June, the time here whizzes by. But when I look back on everything I’ve done here in the last 6 months, I couldn’t feel more fulfilled. 

In 2025 so far, I’ve led community activities outside of camp for adults looking to meet new people and play sports, helped run weekend excursions for refugee kids to get them out into nature and away from the barbed wire and prison-like conditions of camp, planned and led a human rights curriculum for children and taught adult refugees from all over the world looking to improve their English to help their integration into Europe. 

On top of that, I recently directed some fun, but at times sad, and sometimes heart-warming interviews with people I know inside camp, to raise awareness of World Refugee Day and the programmes Second Tree has in place to help our community. 

We love what we do here, and the impact Second Tree has on our community is felt far and wide. Old students send us messages on Instagram and call us on FaceTime, showing off their new lives and their English, German or French, and old team members very often come back to see how we’re doing and help us out. 

Through our programmes, so many hundreds of people’s lives are touched. But we can’t do it without people like you, so for the price of a coffee you can help hundreds more people develop the tools they need for a second chance at stability, education and opportunity.
